The Ten Thousand Mu of Gingko Ecosystem Area is the southwest of
Tancheng, near Yihe River. The ginkgo forest is stretching ten km
along both sides of the river. There are three view areas, "Gingko
Ecosystem Area", "Ten Thousand Mu of Ancient Gingko Forest
Area", "The Park of Ginkgo and Ancient Plum". There
are many view spots in these areas. There are many historic sites,
such as Hongyagumei, Yihefengfan, Jiunvsong, Dagutai, Guangfu Tample.
The supernatural spots are Huaizhongbaozi, Wolongqiaoshou, Qianshouguanyin,
Sister Tress, Laoshenshu, and so on. The theme tourism items, such
as Ginkgo Arts, Fried Tea Manually, Yihe People, etc. are full of
romantic feelings.
"Ten Thousand Mu of Ancient Gingko Forest Area" keeping
the beauty of primordial ecosystem, is a special bar full of natural
oxygen. There are 23,000 trees which are over 100 years, standing
shoulder to shoulder, one after one, like a chessboard. A poet in
Qing Dynasty wrote down lines after watching the forest as follows:
"Open the door and you see an overwhelming ginkgo wave,
How many trees tofigure out is hard, yet to be sure over ten thousan."
There are the Big Way, Moon Gulf, View Sail, Lovers Stone, Sandy Beach
Bath Field, the Happy Familes, etc. in this area. Warm in winter and
cool in summer, flowering in spring and fruiting in autumn, ancient
tree whirling, and bluish green grass just like mattress, being filtrated
by the old and miraculous gingko trees, the air is very fresh, so
actually this is a good place leisure and entertainment.
"Gingko Ecosystem Area" is the first farm park of the province,
covering an area of 150mu. The name was written by Song Fatang, the
former vice-secretary of Shandong Province. There are high-quality
view spots inside, such as Laoshenshu, Jiunvsong, Locust Trees of
Tang Dynasty, Hongyagumei, Guangfu Tample. Laoshenshu is called "the
First Male Ginkgo Tree in China". It is said that the treewas
planted in Zhou Dynasty. Laoshenshu is the first male ginkgo tree
in China. It is said that the tree was planted in Zhou Dynasty. Because
of the long history, there are lots of legends. The tree absorbs the
essence of the world and grows frondently, so it is called "Laoshenshu".
The tree is 41.9 meters in height, and the circumference is 8.2 meters.
It can not only pollinate the female trees within 30km,but also pollinate
itself, because it is hermaphroditism. The bottom branches were engrafted
by the host of Guangfu Tample 300 years ago. The annual yield is nearly
300kg, so it is an aged producing tree. The more miraculousis that
it germinates before spring, and fall leaves after autumn. One interesting
thing is that it takes only 8 hours for all of its leaves to fall,
just like there tens of thousands butterflies are flying. This tree
was named as "Chinese Famous Wood" in 2004 by the virescence
committee of the state. It is said that confucius used to have discussions
with Tanzi under the tree, and they felt regretful not to have known
each other before.
A poem in Tang Dynasty goes like this "planted by Tanzi in person,
the old tree is so wide that many people join hands to round it. Not
to say that it yields not may nuts, zhiyuan feed on it." Now
the ancient way still exists, and the old tree still stands well in
its place. Its leaves swing people's imagination for ancient times
when the two oracles were standing under the tree.
The rebuilt Guangfu Tample, is plain cultured, strange styled, with
wreathing burning incense and ring-ring ding. The visitors come here
just like going into fairyland, lingering on, and forgetting to return.
There are over ten view spots in the park, Leisure Island, Man-made
Lake, 36 stratagems, Maze, and so on. The park is specially designed,
elaborately built, and the environment is tranquil and enjoyable.
It is a divine spot leisure, amusement and sight-seeing. In the autumn
of 1993, the first Chinese Ginkgo Festival was held here. Since then,
there are many visitors come here, and the fame is rising. Every spring
and autumn, there are many guests getting together here. They reach
high position and look beyond, sing a hymn and draw a picture, linger
on and forget to return. The feeling and view are unforgetable and
hard to speak out.
In Xincun Township, the material is plentiful, and the weather is
good; the place iseffective and the people are crackajack. The township
is famous for ginkgo overseas. The place is next to Yihe River in
the west and there are manyhistoric sites. Hongyagumei, one the Tang's
Eight Views in Country Tan, has ancient legend for thousands years
and will be continued in the future. Both "TenThousand Mu of
Ancient Gingko Forest Area", and "The Park of Ginkgo and
Ancient Plum" are located in the northeast of Xincun Government
within 20km from the county seat.
In order to expand historic culture and flourish the tour industry,
the town Party and the government invested to built "The Park
of Ginkgo and Ancient Plum", in the autumn of 1992. The name
was written by Song Fatang, the former vice-secretary of Shandong
Province. Later on, based on the brightest spot---King of Ginkgo---the
park was renamed as Ginkgo Park. The King of Ginkgo, pines, old locust
trees Hongyagumei and Guanzhu Tample are high quality tour resources.
The reasonable layout must be made on the base of King of Ginkgo,
ancient locust trees, ancient plums, ancient tamples, ancient ginkgos,
etc. It took a shape, by the end of 2000. The park is divided into
6 sections. They are the Front Door, Acient Ginkgo, Children's Eden,
Group of Sculptures, the Trap of Eight Diagrams and Guanzhu Tample.
There is a very tall ginkgo tree inside of the park. The tree is 37
meters in height, covering an area of over one mu. The roots spead
for miles. The tree like this is really seldom to see. The rebuilt
